Ashley Moses, a Neurosciences PhD candidate at Stanford University and founder of The Civilian, has launched a new resource called PhD Paths. The purpose is to help academics answer the question, “What can I do with my PhD.”
What is PhD Paths?
In a similar approach to After Your PhD, PhD Paths aims to help PhD students explore non-academic career options by sharing the power of informational interviews. Sharing stories of different career paths from personal experiences makes a difference for academics. Not many know the paths that exists.
Each profile includes an informational interview offering insights, advice, and experiences related to transitioning from academia. There are many different career paths, including this interesting career path where a chemist transitioned into working for the Metropolitan Museum of Art!
With over 50 profiles already included, PhD Paths is designed to support PhD students in finding careers that align with their personal goals and interests.
After browsing though the website myself, I fully support others to check it out. The more resources on the web about helping PhDs and academics the better. After Your PhD is one of many voices sharing how you can find your way into a new fulfilling career.
